Grammar Rules

Jussive verb
۞ فَلْيُقَـٰتِلْ (So let fight) is in the jussive mood — it comes after لم ("did not") or a conditional word, which shortens its ending.
We translate it as "did not [verb]" or as part of a condition.

۞ فَلْيُقَـٰتِلْ (So let fight) uses form III (فَاعَلَ) — it describes doing something with or to each other.

Sahih International

So let those fight in the cause of Allāh who sell the life of this world for the Hereafter. And he who fights in the cause of Allāh and is killed or achieves victory - We will bestow upon him a great reward.
